Our first workshop, on Heimat, Muttersprache and Deutschsein: Challenges in German Literary Studies is led by Nisha Kommattam (Associate Instructional Professor, Comparative Literature, University of Chicago).
The Interdisciplinary German Seminar, sponsored by the Department of Germanic Studies, provides a workshop format for rigorous methodological discussion of contemporary challenges and trends in literary and cultural studies in the German-speaking world. Pre-circulated readings will be in German; discussion will be in English.
